David Cross on Tea Baggers (via Bluejayjay)
Lol, as a fellow ATL born comic I’m just gonna take credit for all of David Cross’ thoughts…well only the ones I agree with.
Can’t help but insert my own run-ins with the tea party at the Georgia State Capital earlier this year.
Went to a tea party with my my boy Jeff and lived to youtube it. We were posing as College Republicans interested in learning more about the party and thus Jeff was supposed to be my white decoy who would make it easier for me to talk to these folks. I think he got a little over zealous though and you can tell by his cut off shirt and flowing chest hair. Anyway, I think we made some frenemies. Watch.
There is something infantile in the belief of the constitution-worshippers that the complex political arguments of today can be settled by simple fidelity to a document written in the 18th century. During her speech at the National Tea Party Convention, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin mocked President Obama for using a Teleprompter. Well it turns out it was just the technology she was against, not the concept.
The written words on her hand: ”Energy”, “Tax,” “Lift American Spirits, and “Budget cuts” with the word Budget scribbled out.
Everybody Hates Sarah… except for real Americans
