Was invited to fly down to Atlanta last weekend to perform as part of Umu Igbo Unite’s (UIU) 1st Annual Gala Night.

Was a tough crowd but after some bobbing and weaving, we worked it out and by night’s end everyone had a great time. The evening was filled with singers, dancers, a mini fashion show and a packed hall of young Igbo men and women dressed to impress.
The good folks of UIU were even gracious enough to offer me ad space in this year’s brochure so I hit up my designer buddy, Chris Nunn to work some of his magic for me. Voila:

Definitely glad I could be a part of the event, only regret is I didn’t have more time to chill w/ my ATL peeps while in town. Better luck next time, I guess. Now it’s back to the imaginary spring of the Windy City.

This Sunday is the next performance by the hysterical comedy group 40 Acres & A Stool at Neighbor’s Pub in the Virginia Highlands; presented by Hysterical Events!
40 Acres & A Stool features the comedic talent of local comics Dulce Sloan, Odinaka Ezeokoli, & A.K. Bjorn.
This particular show will, however, feature a few special guests including Mike Kaiser, Shalewa Sharpe, Rob Hayes, and myself.
RSVP to the Facebook event here.

I’m a big Hari Kondabolu fan. His “Comedy Central Presents…” half-hour special is this Friday. He’ll be performing in Atlanta at the end of the month on the 25th at Relapse Theater. Check him out.
Shout out to the good folks over at Creative Loafing for profiling me as their ATL Comic of the week. Pretty cool all the love I’ve been getting from folks since this went up. All very humbling and much appreciated!
If you haven’t seen the profile already click through the pic to check it out!
Also 40 Acres and Stool’s 1st show is tonight at the Basement Theater here in Atlanta, 9 pm. Join us for some talented tenth tomfoolery! Be there or be a mule.
Featured on Rooftop Comedy’s Daily 8 today! Well for 2 more hours but you ain’t gotta worry about that cuz you’re already here.

Jokes on the greatest rapper of all time Just in time for Columbus Day! I’m sure he would understand that there’s no connection necessary for me to say that.
Also check out their feature comic of the day, Hari Kondabolu. He’s one of my favorite comedians out right now. Equally hilarious and insightful.
But wait, there’s more! Click now and you can see my old jokes on Confederate Memorial Day and…wait for it…Columbus Day

Doing a guest set tonight at The Seriously Funny Show….Seriously. No, I mean it. The reason you don’t see my name on the flyer is because I’m represented by the megaphones (so my name actually appears twice).

Naka On Wood Stand Up Sample: Spelling my name used to suck
Eddie Izzard literally told me don’t consider yourself a stand-up until you’ve done a hundred gigs. So he gave me a vital piece of advice there…

Tuesday night I made it to one hundred!
Yeah I know this is arbitrary advice and it doesn’t really mean much (comedy is one of the few jobs where you’re expected to be in full swing on day one) but I can’t help but feel official now. Let’s get it!
Love Miss Millie Jackson…she gave it to us straight with no chaser.
