GPOYW: Telling jokes edition

Celeste Echols of Aviditiy Photography has been ripping up the comedy scene here in Atlanta taking photos at alot of shows, several nights out of the week. The girl definitely gets it in so it was only a matter of time before she caught yours truly.  These were taken last week at one of my favorite places, Relapse Theater, at the Remiked UnMiked Open Mic show.

Anyway, if you have an event coming up, look Celeste up. She’s good for it.

Anybody ever played Whirly ball before?  I did for the first time tonight. It’s a fun game! It’s basically like lacrosse w/ go-carts.  I’ll have to admit, when my friend invited me to come play my first though was, “Whirly ball???? are these white folks tryna take me on a  snipe hunt?”  But alas I googled the game and all my fears were gone.  Side note: I love shit talking in a go-cart.   I gotta get my Naija crew together to play this summer. If you ever get the chance to play do it.

Raphael Saadiq of Tony! Toni! Tone!  I’ve been SERIOUSLY sleepin on this album cuz I only heard the weakest track, the Jay-Z collabo, and dismissed it.  If the Jay collabo is the weakest track you know it’s fiya. Unabashedly 60’s Motown era R&B- makes me wanna dig in the crates.

I just got really excited about an idea for a DVD after talking to my boy, Chris Nunn.  Let me just say it’s great to have positive, hungry people around you. It does wonders for keeping you motivated and working hard.  It’s gonna take me a while to put some material together though but I’mma work hard, push myself and see what I can come up with in the next couple months.  By God’s Grace this is gonna be wonderful.
