Save a Korean store, go natural.
“The most expensive hair type — and the one in highest demand by thieves and paying customers alike — is remy hair, which unlike most other varieties is sold with its outermost cuticle layer intact. This allows it to look more natural and to last longer without tangling.
Remy hair from Indian women is the most popular. But remy hair extensions can cost as much as $200 per package and the average person requires at least two packages. Hundreds of dollars more, and at times thousands, are spent at hair salons to have the extensions attached, often by sewing.
In addition to the $150,000 Houston robbery this month, thieves have recently taken $10,000 in hair from a San Diego shop; $85,000 from a business in Missouri City, Tex.; $10,000 from a shop in Dearborn, Mich.; and $60,000 from a business in San Leandro, Calif. All the values were provided by the storeowners.”
AFRICA has endured a tortured history of political instability and religious, racial and ethnic strife. In order to understand this bewildering, beautiful continent — and to grasp the complexity that is my home country, Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation — I think it is absolutely important that we examine the story of African people.
I Love hearing people’s stories & these are great stories. A slideshow coupled with audio of NY’rs from all walks of life. Of course I was drawn in by the story of the comedian, Jesse Pop (shout to the homie, CrisGray, on the link) but then I got to meet the tolerance teacher from Greece, the Pathologist born of a family obsessed with morbidity, the tabloid photographer since 1946, the subway performer and a host of others.
I’m not thinking about how I’m going to change myself to fit a certain demographic. I just have to block that nonsense out…you have to stake out what you think is right, you have to put out that signal, make sure it’s pure and then do it and do it and do it and know that they will come. And if they don’t, you have to pack up your bags and say: ‘I enjoyed my time here. Sorry it didn’t work out.’ But the biggest mistake would be to alter my signal to make sure that I reach all these different people. Because then you’re lost.
Love Miss Millie Jackson…she gave it to us straight with no chaser.

“So we thought, instead of buying groceries here in Oak Park we could go buy groceries on the West Side. And it was not that simple at all.”
