Missed Opportunities,

simplybasic:

There are a million quotes and saying about opportunity and risk. In order to gain something, you have to take a chance.  Otherwise, you’ll never get anywhere.  Every person you meet is a potential something—friend, lover, confidant, partner in crime, or that long-lost sister or brother that fate forgot to give you. It’s rather daunting to think about it; there’s potential in every chance meeting, in every casual acquaintance, in every little accident that life throws your way. The trouble is, if you’re not paying attention, you might miss what might’ve been. You might miss a connection, an opportunity, a possible something.

People always says you can’t lose what you never had, but I think I’m inclined to disagree.  If any opportunity isn’t seized, it is still lost. You’ve lost that potential, that maybe, that experience that might’ve been. So, yes, it’s not exactly like losing your keys.  Instead, it’s like losing the phone number of someone you like, but never had the chance to call.  It was there, in your grasp—that maybe—and now, it’s not.

Can we ever get back to that place? That place where something is possible?  It depends, really, on the situation, the players, and a myriad of circumstance.  Things change, people change, lives change. So, you might get a second chance (or a third, or a fourth), but it’s the first chance. It’s a new one; it’s different.

It could also mean we’re missing out on potential stalkers but the way you look at it sounds alot better than me.

I think the anarchist movement would go a lot further if it had a strong leader.

Wow, I’ve been thinking something like this for the past month and this puts my random thoughts into words.
When I think of being a wolf I think of going out almost every night in the pursuit of laughs, getting my biz ventures off the ground and out of my head and the cost that comes with those pursuits- little time for others.
When I think of being a sheep I think of getting a masters or phd in my undergrad degree (chemistry), and the accompanying pay increase that comes with that, having a stable schedule on the way to finding a stable women who I’ll produce stable kids with.
I’m not saying that starting a family is a sheepish venture in anyway (on the contrary the dedication to love, commitment and discipline it takes to keep a famiily unit together is an amazing wonder of the world), but theres so many voices in my life telling me to take a more traditional route in life (and when I say traditional, I mean my Nigerian roots traditional) and to ignore all the dreams floating around my head.  To ignore something I have a calling for, that’s a sheepish venture.
Ok, I’ll just say, I like this quote and it makes me think.

The War

I have a complex about whether or not I should reblog every post I “like” w/ the heart icon.  On one hand my mind’s like,

Post it! Post it! Post it! You liked it, let everyone else see it too!”

And the other side’s like,

“Hey, slow down there buddy, you just posted some other cool stuff you liked a couple hours ago. Why spam your own tumblr?”

Then the first side retaliates,

“Hey buddy, watch your mouth! It’s not spam, I just like alot of things and I don’t mind sharing!” and then both sides start calling each other names like, “Spammer!” and

Tumblr hermit!” I don’t know which side to choose….it’s a constant battle.

I’m a state of Georgia employee and we get off for the Holiday, Confederate Memorial Day every year (April 27, 2009). Never heard of it til I started working for the State so I decided to take to the streets and ask my friends and not so friends about their knowledge of this renowned State treasure.

Music by the Beastie Boys, (“Three MC’s & 1 DJ” from the album, Hello Nasty)

Are they related?

Weezy Goldberg?

Ok, Odinaka, his music is good but they should put him on the radio, don’t make us look at him.
